Global Water Farms sets a new standard in the desalination industry with its innovative approach to scalable water desalination systems. Our technology is designed to be easily repeatable, allowing for the rapid scaling from small to large systems. This flexibility is achieved by growing modular “farms” to increase water production. The units are identical and can be constructed swiftly with lead times as short as five months from the issuance of permits. This capability ensures that our systems can be deployed and operational in a fraction of the time it takes for traditional desalination plants to be built. Our incremental building strategy allows for quick and easy deployment based on demand, ensuring that capital is only expended when units are needed, which significantly simplifies engineering planning and construction cycles.

Each unit within our farms is designed as an assembly that is rated and accepted by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), emphasizing our commitment to high reliability and safety. These units are robust and maintain reliability even during maintenance periods, thanks to our advanced supervisory controlled and data acquisition (SCADA) monitoring systems. These systems provide instant data on unit production quality and mechanical issues, offering unparalleled peace of mind for the continuous delivery of high-quality water. Importantly, our design philosophy eliminates the risk of large system breakdowns that could impact water deliveries. If a single unit on a farm of a thousand unit breaks, the reliability of the system is not imperiled. Global Water Farms’ approach sets us apart from competitors in the industry by providing a more reliable and efficient water supply solution.

Global Water Farms distinguishes itself in the desalination industry by harnessing 100% renewable energy sources to power its water desalination process. We are committed to environmental sustainability, utilizing geothermal technology to generate the necessary power for our operations. This integration of renewable energy sources ensures that our systems can operate efficiently without relying on hydrocarbons, thus maintaining a zero-carbon footprint. In areas where geothermal power is not available, a unit powered by 95% renewable concentrated solar power (CSP) is an option.

Each system operates on an island power energy generator, enabling all units to operate independently in remote areas. This capability is particularly crucial for regions with limited access to conventional power infrastructures, that offer a reliable and sustainable source water supply. The use of renewables ensures that our facilities can provide reliable 24/7 power, supporting continuous operation and water production without the environmental impact associated traditional desalination technology. Global Water Farms leads the way in eco-friendly desalination, ensuring that every drop of water we produce contributes to a healthier planet.

Global Water Farms has revolutionized the desalination industry with our patented low-temperature distillation technology, marking a significant leap forward in energy conservation and cost efficiency. Unlike traditional steam distillation methods, our process requires substantially less energy, which not only reduces operating costs but also eliminates carbon emissions. This aligns with global efforts to reduce environmental impacts and provides a sustainable solution to water scarcity.

Our highly efficient evaporation/condensation process is at the core of our breakthrough technology, ensuring that we surpass the capabilities of conventional desalination systems. This patented approach optimizes the use of energy throughout the distillation cycle, making it more effective than older, energy-intensive methods. The result is a superior system that offers a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution to meet the growing demand for fresh water, setting Global Water Farms distinctly above competitors in the distillation field.

Global Water Farms (GWF) disrupts the desalination industry by transforming the conventional toxic effluent stream into an environmentally sustainable and profitable revenue stream. Unlike traditional methods like Multi-Stage Flash (MSF), Multi-Effect Distillation (MED), and Reverse Osmosis (RO), which produce effluent waste streams that pose significant environmental hazards, GWF’s innovative approach ensures that no toxic byproducts are released into the environment. This positions GWF not just as an alternative, but as the definitive sustainable choice for desalination technology.

At the heart of GWF’s zero liquid discharge technology is the advanced crystallizer technology, which processes concentrated brine liquor into dry salt crystals. This system inputs brine or brackish water and outputs distilled water and dry salt, effectively turning what would be a waste product into a valuable resource. These crystals are then utilized as a structural component in GWF’s unique salt block system. By converting effluent waste streams into monetized products, GWF eliminates the creation of toxic waste byproducts, further solidifying its role as an industry leader in environmental stewardship.

The environmental implications of traditional desalination methods are severe; effluent waste streams released into oceans can devastate marine ecosystems. Deep well injection of effluent waste is subject to regulatory scrutiny due to the potential for seismic activity. GWF’s zero liquid discharge not only addresses these issues but also sets a new environmental standard for the industry.

By ensuring that all effluent waste streams are repurposed, GWF establishes a precedent for zero waste in desalination, offering a profoundly sustainable solution that aligns with global efforts to protect and preserve our natural ecosystems.

Global Water Farms distinctively positions itself in the desalination industry by not only providing essential water resources but also by turning the byproduct of this process into a monetized and an environmentally focused product. Our innovative system compacts dry salt into proprietary fiberglass/epoxy construction block to create structural building materials that can replace traditional cinder blocks. This method leverages the 1:1 relationship between cement and carbon emissions, whereby replacing one ton of cement with one ton of our salt blocks effectively removes one ton of carbon emissions. As a result, each ton of cement replaced with our salt blocks secures a corresponding carbon credit, enhancing both the environmental impact and economic viability of our operations.

The potential impact of our technology is significant. For example, desalinating 2 million acre-feet of ocean water would produce 3.44B salt blocks a year. This would lead to a reduction of approximately 86 million tons of carbon dioxide per year from the atmosphere. This dual-product strategy—producing both water and salt blocks—distinguishes Global Water Farms from traditional desalination initiatives. Our approach not only addresses the critical issue of water scarcity but also makes a significant contribution to carbon reduction efforts, benefiting both the planet and our clients.

Global Water Farms (GWF) uniquely positions itself in the desalination industry by leveraging a variety of water sources that are typically deemed unsuitable for direct agricultural or human consumption due to their high salinity. Utilizing advanced technology, GWF effectively processes brackish groundwater aquifers, salty brine aquifers, produced from the oil and gas industry, and ocean water.

Global Water Farms can process saline water up to 240,000ppm.

GWF not only addresses the challenge of these diverse high-salinity water sources but also ensures that the processed water surpasses the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) acceptable level of sodium chloride (NaCl), which is set at 500 ppm.

Through our sophisticated desalination process, GWF consistently achieves water purity that qualifies as ultra-pure, with less than 20 ppm of NaCl. This exceptional level of purity not only makes GWF’s water ideal for all consumptive uses but also places the company at the forefront of the desalination industry, providing solutions that convert previously unusable water into valuable resources.
